Consular news – Embassy 15 – February 2009

Five countries fail visa test

From March, first-time visitors to the UK from Bolivia, Venezuela, South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland will need biometric visas, after their passports failed to meet Home Office security standards. Nationals from the five countries will need to provide fingerprints and pay a fee of £65 for a tourist visa. The full visa regime comes into force in mid-2009.
