Making history
This will be a year to remember for Colombia. The National Day was a very upbeat affair as ambassadors, parliamentarians and diplomats mingled on the sun-drenched terraces of Ambassador Nestor Osorio’s Belgravia Residence to enjoy Colombian music and coolers in anticipation of upcoming historic events.
London’s landmarks lit up in the yellow, blue and red of the Colombian tricolour in honour of the historic State Visit of the President Juan Manuel Santos in November. Ratification of a revised historic peace agreement is imminent.
In recognition of this achievement, President Juan Manuel Santos will be awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize in December, bringing a landmark year to an end.
