Embassy Event Expo a hit
Over 100 diplomats from 60 missions attended the first-ever Embassy Events Expo at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel, where they met a range of event industry experts for a packed afternoon of presentations and networking. Former head of FCO protocol Charles de Chassiron briefed diplomats on managing VIP visits, after which security specialist Steve Massey of Mitig8 Specialist Risks gave a talk on event security and Zanine Adams, head of Visit London Event Solutions, gave attendees tips on organising a diplomatic function with a difference.

The day ended with a fun wine-tasting competition, hosted by the Embassy Premium Partner International Diplomatic Supplies and some lucky guests bagged some great prizes on offer, including a weekend break at any Park Plaza Hotel in the UK, a spa treatment at Le Kalon Spa from The Bentley Hotel, dinner for two at The Goring, tickets to The Dali Universe, a night at the Marriott Grosvenor Square and a choice of drinks worth £100 from IDS. But no-one walked away empty handed as all guests received an Embassy Conference & Banqueting Directory full of useful advice and contacts.

The Event Expo was sponsored by IDS, The Bentley Hotel, The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Park Plaza Hotel.
