All change at Protocol

Following a successful Diamond Jubilee and Olympics there is a significant turnover of key staff at the Protocol Directorate. The Director of Protocol Simon Martin was snapped up as Private Secretary to the Prince of Wales, replacing Clive Alderton (who has been appointed UK Ambassador to Morocco).

Mr Martin’s successor is Anna Clunes, who joins the Protocol Directorate having previously headed the Communications and Engagement Department at the FCO.

Alison MacMillan, the Deputy Director of Protocol, will also be leaving at the end of the year. The Assistant Director and head of visits Tony Humphries will depart soon. No successors have been announced yet.

FCO Protocol is relocating to the main building in King Charles Street. Contact numbers will not change.
