Ballet demo makes a pointe
Human rights organisation Amnesty International staged a ‘pointed’ protest outside the Russian Embassy in Kensington ahead of the Sochi Olympics with a troop of dancers demonstrating against legislation which forbids homosexual propaganda towards minors.
Performing Russia’s most popular ballet, Swan Lake, in tutus with “proud to protest” written on their bodies, the activists demanded Putin ended his “assault on freedom of expression and gay rights in Russia”.
