Beer and Brexit
The new Ambassador of Belgium Rudolf Huygelen celebrated his first National Day in London with fine local beer, great eats and a positive message about the ongoing Brexit negotiations. “I know that many of our compatriots are worried about everything that is happening,” Ambassador Huygelen told guests. “But I am convinced there will be a solution and that compatriots who are contributing to the economy over here and the British contributing to the economy in Belgium will be able to continue to do so.”
And just before the Leffe Blonde beer really started to flow, Ambassador Huygelen added that he and his wife Marianne were looking forward to exploring London and the rest of Great Britain. “We are delighted to live in this fantastic city and this beautiful country that we are discovering bit by bit,” he said.
