Canada High Commission for sale

Canada’s government is expected to put up for sale Macdonald House, its High Commission on Grosvenor Square, which is thought to be valued at £150 million.

The proceeds from the sale will be used to renovate Canada House in Trafalgar Square which has been used as a cultural centre for Canada since 1925.

The government is also buying an adjacent building and turning it into office space for the High Commission’s 250 staff, thereby consolidating Canada’s government properties in London.
