Colombia’s peace exhibition wins Fashion Week showcase
An installation inspired by Colombia’s peace process scooped this year’s International Fashion Showcase (IFS) and a Colombian also walked away with the Best Designer award.
Making their debut at the IFS, the Colombian entry, ‘Framework’, curated by Liliana Sanguino, symbolised Colombia’s path to peace, displaying designs on scaffolding.
Emerging designer Julia Männistö was also recognised for reinterpreting traditional crafts of basket weaving, print and quilting.
The IFS is a joint initiative by the British Council and British Fashion Council, staged annually during London Fashion Week and attracts more than 120 emerging designers from 31 countries.
