Concierge healthcare for diplomats

Where can envoys turn to get fast access to healthcare in the UK? John Reay, CEO of HCA Healthcare UK, introduces service ideal for diplomats

Any diplomats who have recently arrived in the UK will be eager to understand the practicalities of how to access healthcare in the UK. Researching and finding the most suitable private healthcare provider for your individual needs can be both stressful and time-consuming.

The HCA UK Concierge Centre was created to meet the healthcare needs of busy professionals and international travellers, including diplomats. Located in Marylebone, in the heart of London’s medical district, the Concierge Centre acts as a single point of contact for all HCA Healthcare UK hospitals, providing a patient-focused service to help diplomats coordinate and navigate the healthcare services according to their needs.

HCA Healthcare UK is a network of leading private hospitals and outpatient centres, providing highly specialised treatments and primary care services. We work with world-class doctors and surgeons from leading teaching hospitals who are at the forefront of global clinical excellence.

Outstanding quality of care
We are well-known within the diplomatic community for the breadth of our services and our ability to provide the best possible care for embassy staff. With 12 locations rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we have a higher proportion of Outstanding CQC ratings than any other private hospital group in the UK. Our ratings are a testament to the exceptional patient care that we strive to deliver every day, the expertise of our colleagues and the robust governance frameworks that drive our patient outcomes.

HCA UK’s London hospitals include London Bridge Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital, The Harley Street Clinic, The Wellington Hospital, The Lister Hospital and The Portland Hospital. We continually invest in the latest technologies and work with over 3,000 consultants who are experts in their specialties. Our clinicians dedicate themselves to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in the safest possible environment.

Patients contacting the HCA UK Concierge Centre can expect unparalleled speed of access, outstanding customer service and a seamless admissions experience to an HCA UK hospital. The team can meet all your healthcare needs, from initial consultations, diagnosis and second opinions through to tailored treatment plans.

The Concierge Centre’s Clinical Nurse Advisors personally support patients through their medical journey, providing rapid access to a consultant in an HCA UK hospital. Furthermore, the HCA UK Concierge Centre is the only Clinical Nurse Specialist-led healthcare concierge in London to be registered with the CQC.

UK hospital transfers
HCA UK’s network of hospitals cover all aspects of medicine, including urgent care, complex cardiac and cancer care, neurorehabilitation, orthopaedics, paediatrics, fertility care and obstetrics.

The team at the HCA UK Concierge Centre can organise private ambulance transfers for any patients who are currently admitted to any UK hospital and would like to be moved to an HCA UK facility for the remainder of their care. This applies to patients in both private or NHS hospitals, anywhere in the UK.

Rapid response referrals
The Concierge Centre’s 24/7 Rapid Response Referral service manages bespoke pathways for patients with complex and time-critical healthcare needs into an HCA Healthcare UK hospital. HCA UK has the expertise to manage these patients effectively due to our breadth and complexity of care.

By operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the Concierge Centre team is able to respond to all enquiries within one hour, ensuring all patients benefit from a fast response to their health concerns.

International transfers
The HCA UK Concierge Centre is partnered with Charles Taylor Assistance to arrange international travel for patients who are critically ill. This partnership between a direct healthcare provider and a medivac aviation transfer specialist is a UK first, and it means that global transfers that aren’t reliant on private medical insurance can be arranged.

In 2021, the team at the HCA UK Concierge Centre assisted patients in 47 countries around the world and co-ordinated their transfer to an HCA UK hospital for high-quality specialist care.
