Consular Code Red party raises £1000 for Ebola appeal

The Consular Corps went into red alert to raise more than £1000 for the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Ebola Appeal at its Code Red Christmas party, held at the Taj Hotel St James’ Court.

The UK government will match the funds raised, meaning the proceeds of the party will be enough to supply protective clothing for more than 100 volunteer health workers.

More than 120 consuls attended the charity dinner, all wearing something red to show their solidarity with the aid workers in the affected countries. After the prize draw consuls hit the dance floor, with a festive ‘Consul Conga’.

The evening was possible thanks to the CCL’s generous sponsors Rowland Brothers International, Chacalli De Decker and VFS.
