Czech classics
On a mellow autumn afternoon Czech Ambassador Libor Secka and his wife Sabrina toasted their first National Day in London with a garden party at his leafy Hampstead Residence.
The guest of honour, Police President of the Czech Republic Major General Tomáš Tuhý joined ambassadors, parliamentarians, prominent Czechs and war veterans to enjoy a smoky BBQ, lashings of goulash, paired with a Pilsner or a glass of Moravian wine from the Ambassador’s home town of Znojmo.
For classic connoisseurs, there was the Belfiato Wind Quintet who blew everyone away with a beautiful rendition of the national anthems and Dvorák’s Slavonic Dances, while a classic Skoda parked in the gardens got the vintage car aficionados’ motors running. In every sense it was a classic Czech celebration.
