London’s young diplomats feed 60,000 kids
Bernard Hamilton, Young Diplomats in London Coordinator, presented a cheque of €3,000 to Gregory Barrow of the World Food Programme, in the presence of YDL committee members and WFP officials. Funds were raised at the YDL’s hugely successful Black & White Ball last month.
During the presentation Mr Hamilton recalled that the WFP is present in 78 countries and feeds 87.8 million people – 58.8 million of which are children – annually.
Mr Barrow said the money would allow WFP to purchase 60,000 porridge meals in schools.
