Mandela Day tribute
On the hottest day of the year, volunteers from the South African High Commission celebrated Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday by working a symbolic 67 minutes in the gardens of Richard House, London’s first children’s hospice, to represent the years Nelson Mandela spent in public service.
“We know Mandela loves children and working in a hospice for children felt appropriate,” said Deputy High Commissioner Bongiwe Qwabe.
