A perfect foil for diplomacy
While most of the diplomatic corps will be enjoying a relaxing summer, the Ambassador of Panama, Ana Delgado, will be packing her épée and heading off to Budapest to represent her country in the World Fencing Championships.
This won’t be her first bout: the Ambassador has already represented her country at the World Champs before. She told Embassy that the British fencing team had been putting her through her paces to prepare for the competition.
Here at Embassy we think two years of diplomacy in London is the perfect preparation training for fencing: always being on guard, having fancy footwork, knowing how to deal with a barrage and, of course, having the perfect riposte.
We wish her the best of luck.
