Polish Constitution Day
HRH Duke of Kent joined ambassadors and parliamentarians at Poland’s Constitution Day celebration to bid farewell to their friend Ambassador Witold Sobków.
The Ambassador reminded guests that Poland’s constitution of 1791 had kept the dream of an independent and fair society alive for generations of Poles under foreign rule. Today a sovereign Poland is an active member of the international community as it prepares to host the NATO Summit in July.
Referring to the British-Polish Special Relationship, the Ambassador praised the contribution of the Polish Community in the UK, adding: “Poland and the UK are friends and partners on the international scene. Our governments are on the same page when it comes to reforming the EU well as resolving the conflicts in the East and the South. Together we are stronger.”
