Some London boroughs also offer free or reduced charge parking for electric vehicles – very handy when you can’t find a diplomatic parking bay.

In Westminster, one of the main the diplomatic quarters, the council offers free annual parking permits to residents driving an eco-vehicle. EV motorists also benefit discounted parking – pay for just 10 minutes at pay-to-park bays and park for the maximum prescribed period. You can also access to on-street charging points alongside dedicated EV bays where it is free to park whilst you charge.

You’ll get significant tax incentives too. And with no charges relating to congestion, emissions or parking in many cities, the benefits keep adding up.

Stay in power
The Jaguar I-PACE has a range of up to 292 miles – that should get you to Birmingham and back on a single charge. It also has the latest charging technology whether you charge over night or you need a rapid charge in 15 minutes, giving you up to 78 miles of range. Wireless charging is standard on all Jaguar I-PACE vehicles.

What’s more, Jaguar’s Go I-PACE app will tell you how much power you need for your journey and where to find charging points, and the Jaguar Remote app syncs with your smartphone so you can check on your charge status before you head out. Finding charging points should not be a problem – the charging infrastructure in the UK is expanding at pace and in Westminster alone there are more than a thousand charging points.

The I-PACE battery is designed for longevity – even when used at maximum power – and comes with an eight-year warranty (the length of two four-year diplomatic postings!)

A distinctive drive
Electric technology makes the I-PACE incredibly quiet – great for virtual meetings or on-the-go briefings. Being electric doesn’t mean the Jaguar I-PACE has compromised on agility.
