Stay alert but not alarmed, say police

Diplomatic Protection officers outside the French Embassy

Diplomatic Protection have said diplomats should remain vigilant following the Paris terrorist attacks and report any suspicious behaviour to the Diplomatic Control Room.

The threat level remains at severe, meaning an attack is “highly likely” and PaDP will be keeping the security arrangements of at-risk missions under review.

Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, the National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for counter terrorism, said that police had prepared for a large-scale Paris-style attack and urged the public to “be alert but not alarmed”.

Embassy Security staff are reminded to ensure PaDP has up-to-date contacts for the mission. Contact Diplomatic Liaison Inspector Simon Fox with any updates on 0207 321 8102 or email Simon.Fox@met.pnn.police.uk
