US Embassy and Chelsea FC to be neighbours?

The US Embassy has said it would welcome a move by Chelsea Football Club to buy Battersea Power Station, refuting media reports that the Embassy was seeking to block the football club’s relocation to a site near the new US Embassy in Nine Elms.

In a statement, the US Embassy said it was “generally supportive” of initiatives to bring development and jobs to the Wandsworth and Battersea areas.
