Who’s bugging you?

Consuls were given a fascinating briefing on audio surveillance by industry expert Brig Gen Tweedie Brown of PSG Solutions at the November Consular Corps lunch.

Brig Gen Brown told consuls about high specification bugs, costing upwards of £20,000, that are used to gather intelligence by governments, corporations, city councils, private individuals – and embassies.

He added that his company was only allowed to sell devices to certified ‘friendly countries’ but no vetting system is needed for counter-surveillance devices.
