YDL helps the homeless

The Young Diplomats of London like a party with a purpose. The success of their legendary Shiny Party just before Christmas raised £1,000, which the committee decided to donate to St Mungo’s Seymour Place project, a shelter that brings a little bit of festive cheer to London’s homeless.

A YDL delegation visited the shelter just before Christmas to hand over the cheque and were welcomed by Jane Galton and Christine Mortensen, corporate fundraising managers at St Mungo’s, and were given a tour of the project by the manager Ms Claire Archibald.

They also got a chance to meet two of the project’s homeless residents. The generous YDL donation helped to feed, clothe and shelter eight homeless people over the Christmas period.
