All that JLR Jazz
Jaguar Land Rover warmed up a chilly November evening with some of the world’s hottest jazz at their popular annual Ambassador Jazz Evening at the Southbank Centre. Twenty diplomatic jazz aficionados bagged the exclusive places to Jazz Voice, the gala opening of this year’s EFG London Jazz Festival featuring double Grammy award winner Corine Bailey Rae as well as rising stars such as Matthew Whitaker, billed as the next Stevie Wonder.
Before Guy Barker’s band opened the concert, guests were treated to a cocktail reception with views of the Thames, where they were welcomed by hosts Sue King of Jaguar Land Rover, and Joel Kibazo, a former diplomat and trustee of the festival’s charitable arm, the Serious Trust, which runs a huge range of international projects to ensure that everyone can have access to music and music-making. It was a fantastic evening for a worthwhile cause.
