Embassy Events Expo 2010 Review

Event Expo draws huge crowds

The second annual Embassy Event Expo attracted record numbers with more than 140 embassy workers from 70 missions attending the exhibition at the historic King’s Fund in Cavendish Square. Diplomats heard briefings on official visits from Tony Humphries at the Foreign Office, as well as security advice from both the DPG and Jamie Stephen, a top security consultant who has advised the Olympic Delivery Authority. Barbara Jamison of Visit London gave diplomats an update on preparations for the Olympics and tips on arranging events in the capital. Embassy staff had the opportunity to network with a wide range of top-notch suppliers in the event industry, after which they enjoyed a wine tasting competition, hosted by IDS, and a prize draw with some fantastic prizes, from luxury hotel stays to spa treatments, days at the races and a motorsport day, courtesy of BMW Park Lane
