New Range Rover – designed for diplomats
For diplomats with an appetite for adventure and a sense of style, look no further than the new Range Rover
For more than 50 years, the Range Rover has been a firm favourite for diplomats and defence attachés seeking a tough, all-terrain vehicle that is equally at home in London’s fashionable diplomatic quarters or a VIP cavalcade. And the latest Range Rover, with its sleek, modern form, is the most desirable ever created.
Designed and built in the UK, the Range Rover is an iconic British luxury brand. It has led by example since 1970 through originality and class-leading design and this fifth-generation SUV takes Land Rover’s modernist design philosophy to the next level.
The new Range Rover combines its trademark reliability with refinement, customer choice and unrivalled scope for personalisation. Embassy fleet managers can select from a choice of four, five or seven-seat interiors across standard and long wheelbase body designs – offering great flexibility to cover the needs of an embassy fleet, whether it’s a flag car for the ambassador and VIPs, or more space for transporting embassy staff and larger delegations. There is also a range of pack options and accessories available, plus a choice of colours, wheels and roof options.
Style and substance
With Range Rover’s style also comes substance. Environmentally conscious diplomats can choose from a suite of efficient mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains – with the pure electric Range Rover set to join the line-up in 2025. With prototypes now being subjected to rigorous global testing in the harshest of test locations – including the Arctic Circle – the first Range Rover Electric will be the ultimate diplomatic travel companion, capable even in the toughest diplomatic postings across the globe.
The streamlined new design contributes to a drag coefficient of just 0.30, making this the most aerodynamically efficient luxury SUV in the world.
In addition, the new Range Rover incorporates the latest technology for seamless connectivity – essential for those on-the-road diplomatic briefings and virtual meetings.
Award-winning
It’s hardly surprising then that Range Rover snatched a double win at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2024, with two of the luxury brand’s cars topping fiercely contested categories.
Best Luxury Car was awarded to the Range Rover, which saw off competition from the Porsche 911 and Bentley Bentayga. Meanwhile, the Range Rover Sport was named Best Car for Towing ahead of the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen Touareg.
A range of 16 criteria formed the basis for this year’s judging, covering reliability, performance, appearance and running costs, among other factors. Owners were also asked to give a view on their overall ownership experience and how likely they would be to recommend their car to others.
Responding to these accolades, Alan Nicholson, the UK Brand Director for Range Rover, said: “It’s a real honour for the Range Rover brand to receive not one, but two such prestigious awards. Receiving awards in these categories is especially pleasing, as they highlight both the luxury and the capability that is present in all of our vehicles. Furthermore, the awards demonstrate the confidence and appreciation from Range Rover owners ‑ in that regard, they have a hugely significant meaning for us. Our thanks to the Auto Trader team and all of the owners who voted.”
The good news is this peerless Range Rover is available through the Diplomatic Programme of Sytner Jaguar Land Rover South West London. Demand is predicted to be high so don’t delay and contact Land Rover’s diplomatic sales team to join the Range Rover Electric waiting list.
